Sydney born and bred, I made a sea change to southern Tasmania, where I now live within easy reach of Hobart with my husband and an over-adored golden retriever. Surrounded by water, mountains, big skies and stars that still stop me in my tracks, I have entered a new phase of life with renewed creative energy and a deeper connection to the natural world. For more than 30 years, research and writing have been central to my professional life across health and ageing. My career has required me to investigate complex issues, interpret evidence, communicate clearly and tell human stories with care. I am now taking that experience into a broader and more deliberate writing practice. My interests span health, science, ageing, the environment, ancestry and personal history, alongside fiction, memoir and reflective writing. I am particularly drawn to the stories people carry, the experiences that shape families and communities, and the issues that deserve greater understanding or awareness. I bring professional insight, careful research and an accessible, engaging style to articles, memoirs, personal histories and other commissioned work.
